Maggie Oser, a third-year doctor of pharmacy student, was recently elected to the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) 2014-15 National Executive Committee.

“I’m so excited to have the opportunity to work with student pharmacists across the country in the coming year as an APhA-ASP National Member-at-large. I’m looking forward to assisting with chapter operations, increasing communication and collaboration between chapters, and working to further advance the provider status initiative.”

Newly elected Oser will represent 34,000 student pharmacist peers from across the country to serve the year-long term. Her election represents the first student from Ohio State to fill this position in at least a quarter century.

Jerry Cable, advisor for the Ohio State Chapter of the organization, highlighted the importance of this position. Said Cable, “In my 23 years as advisor to the Ohio State Chapter, I am not aware of another student from Ohio State being elected to the national committee.”

The mission of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.
