Job Opening: Assistant Professor - Practice


The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy invites applications for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor - Practice responsible for instruction in the Professional Practice Laboratory. The candidate will be a member of the Pharmacy Practice and Science Division and will be part of a team of faculty teaching in the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory series. The position will report to the Director of the Professional Practice Laboratory. The primary responsibilities of this position are to participate in the development, implementation, and teaching of instructional exercises in the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory series. This includes participation in delivery of didactic lectures, development of lab activities, evaluation of student work, course administration duties and curricular revision. Course content includes aspects from various pharmacy settings including community and hospital pharmacy practice. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a desire to be engaged in the clinical education of pharmacy students. The successful candidate will also precept fourth year pharmacy students, pharmacy practice residents and graduate teaching assistants who also participate in these courses.

Contributions to instruction of other courses, service and scholarship are negotiable based on candidate experience. Participation in scholarly work that supports the advancement of the Integrated Patient Care Laboratory series and clinical skills education is encouraged.

Applicants must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent, PGY-1 residency training or equivalent practice experience and pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in Ohio. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of recent community/ambulatory pharmacy experience. Classroom and/or experiential teaching experience are also preferred.
