BSPS Overview

The Bachelors of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) is a highly unique undergraduate degree program that delivers unsurpassed preparation for careers in a variety of biomedical professions. In the program, students are able to pursue this degree through one of two pathways, enabling them to focus in areas that would be most relevant to their post-baccalaureate goals:

  • The Healthcare Professions Pathway is designed specifically for students interested in pursuing clinical careers in Pharmacy, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry and many other healthcare professions.
  • The Drug Discovery and Development Pathway is designed specifically for students intending to pursue graduate school and/or research-based careers in pharmaceutical sciences.

In learning the disciplines of medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical administration, BSPS students will study the areas of drug discovery, delivery, action and therapy. Students will also have the opportunity to engage in clinical-, laboratory-, and community-based research experiences.

  • 61 percent were in the top 10 percent of their graduating class
  • 29.4 average ACT score for incoming BSPS students
