Professional Interests

My research interests include studying how genetic factors affect an individual’s response to drugs as well as understanding the neurochemical changes that cause and occur during drug addiction. My teaching interests are in Molecular and Cellular Pharmacology, Drugs of Addiction, Toxicology and Scientific Communication. My teaching involves implementing technology and active learning in the classroom to help students develop their critical thinking skills and apply what they learn to real world applications. Additionally, I am interested in courses that help students to develop effective written and oral communication skills involving the expression of their own ideas and research as well as interpreting and communicating other areas of scientific information.
