Benefits for faculty and staff.

Computer Access

Computer Setup Questions-new College of Pharmacy employees can get assistance with setting up their initial computer or request a College email account by emailing the computer group.

Email Access: all students and staff are automatically assigned an Ohio State email account. If you have a personal or college email account you would rather use, it is still a good idea to activate your Ohio State email and have your Ohio State mail set up to be automatically forwarded to your personal account. This web site will show you how to activate your osu.edu account.

Employee Identification

The first step to obtaining an Ohio State ID is to make an appointment with your HR Manager to complete your new hire paperwork. An Ohio State ID Application will be returned to your supervisor after this paperwork has been processed. Please take this application to 3040 Ohio Union, 1739 N. High Street, 292-0400 to obtain your University ID.

Your University ID offers many hidden benefits. Your ID card may be used as a debit card by opening an account and making a minimum $10 deposit. The Buck-ID card may then be used at locations around campus such as the Ohio Union, Fawcett Center, Uniprint, University Bookstores and many High Street businesses. Your ID card is also honored at the library and in the Recreational Sports facilities. Departments can also open debit accounts for departmental use at these locations. We currently have departments using their debit card to buy supplies at the University Bookstore, to take visiting high school students to lunch, and to purchase photocopies at Uniprint.

You will remain in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) for staff, or the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) for faculty, if you take no action. Retirement Forums are held routinely and offer an excellent opportunity to explore this option and talk with benefits consultants.
